We’ve had a very mild October and some great sailing
weather. If you haven’t been to Lake Ronkonkoma
lately you’ve been missing a lot of fun. House work
will always be there, but the sailing season is

Last weekend, September 20, we held the Rulon Cup
race for club members only. This was an enjoyable day

It’s hard to believe that summer is coming to an end
as we enter the month of September. After relaxing
around home for the month of July I took off and
headed to Maine for a course at the Wooden Boat

July has been a hot and humid month with light winds.
Because of the oppressive heat and humidity several
members asked for a survey to be sent to all members
about an earlier start time (9:00 am) for the summer

June is coming to an end and our sailing season is
well under way for 2008. Last weekend I noticed a lot
of confusion at our Babylon Pond and I want to

We are two months into the season and the sailing has
been exhilarating to say the least. Most days we have
sailed with shortened rigs due to winds in the 15 to
20 mph (13 to 17 knots) range. We’ve been lucky in
the fact that we have not been rained out on
Saturday. The weather prediction for many Saturdays
called for rain, but we managed to sail and get home

The first month of sailing activities has come to a
close and we have seen everything; calm days,
moderate winds, and heavy winds blowing 15 to 20 mph
with higher gusts and seas breaking on the beach
(boy, am I glad I’m on shore!!). Read
